The Ballet Studio comes to Dance Kingdom!

Starting term 2 2022 children’s ballet classes will be running in the Dance Kingdom Ballroom.

They offer the following classes:

Preschool Ballet

Perfect for kindergarten aged children.  Classes provide a fun and engaging introduction to classical ballet for younger dancers.  Students are introduced to classical ballet class environment, basic classical ballet technique and terminology, musicality and rhythm whilst utilising their creativity, imagination and the use of props.

There are also classes in Pre- and Primary School Ballet and Preparatory Ballet.  The Ballet Studio offer classes utilising the Russian Vaganova Training Method and The Ballet Conservatoire Syllabus devised by Christine Walsh AM.   Ballet classes are offered in a structured and encouraging environment.

Introducing Jessica Ride – Director of The Ballet Studio

Originally hailing from the Northern Territory, Jessica commenced ballet training at the age of four with The Australian Dance Academy. In her teenage years, Jessica continued her training with local Alice Springs dance company, Duprada Dance Company performing in many full length ballets including touring Singapore performing in “Attitudes of Arabesque”.

Upon moving to Melbourne, Jessica studied under the direction of Leanne Rutherford at Ballet Theatre Australia and Christine Walsh AM at the Australian Conservatoire of Ballet.  Jessica has over 10 years teaching experience and brings a vast array of knowledge from her previous experiences as both student and teacher.

Passionate about professional development, Jessica is qualified in both Ballet Conservatoire Syllabus and International Character Dance Syllabus. She regularly attends syllabus training and workshops to ensure her students obtain the most up to date training methods and techniques.
